Okay let’s back up!
I was in New York (yep!) from Sept 3 to Sept 15. Fashion Week coincidentally was Sept 9 to 17. I don’t follow fashion!! I have no clue! During the trip, I searched “free things to do” and found Fashion Week.
Of course, fashion shows are not free. One of the guests at my Airbnb flat is a fashionista from Ecuador. He’s so friendly and fantastic (tall, skinny, and stylish) and brave. Brave: He found the fashionable people on the street, complimented them, and asked if they were going to fashion shows. They were. But they cannot make some shows and handed him their invites.
He cannot attend all four so he gave me one! (Yes he received four invites!!)
Lela Rose, Spring 2016
We sit on long rows of benches.
My spot is where the cup of tea is. I have second row, facing away from the main stage. I face the “second” stage/runway. The models walk from the main runway, turn right, then continue on the second runway.
Most of the time we sit like this.
So the model walks out under the gorgeous flower ceiling.
Then we wait until she walks in front of us.
My view is like this.
Pretty sweet, huh?????
This is my real view.
I moved to the bench behind me because the third row is higher (haha). Luckily nobody sat there!
I had a lot of fun. Well… I didn’t expect to see a show ever! In my life!
The night before this show, I was outside of another show by Opening Ceremony. I thought it was an opening party, but Opening Ceremony is actually a brand. Oh! I see.
Jessica Alba, Kelly Osborne, Jonte (a dancer) were here! This show was tight with security. I befriended a photographer because my flatmate forced me to talk to him. He couldn’t sneak me in because of the security. But honestly, the only thing on my mind that night was dinner. I wanted to eat.
The flatmate made me stay out here in the cold. Gah. While everyone tried to take selfies with celebrities, I stood alone thinking about hunger.
This girl here is beautiful.
A little hectic for my taste.
The celebrities were surrounded and smiled fully. They are kind!
That’s my experience at Fashion Week. Many thanks to Juan, the fashionista from Ecuador <3 I want to kiss him.
